Message: Hi, my name is Justin Carey, I graduated a year ahead
of Ty. I wasn't one of his closest friends but I knew
him from school all the way back to Longfellow
elementary through North High. Like everyone else, one
of the things that really stuck out in my mind about
Ty was his cheerful personality. That kid was always
had a big grin on his face about something. There was
something always crazy going on with him. Some of my
favorite conversations with him were about hunting,
and man, did he ever love to hunt! I know some pretty
dedicated hunters but Ty is totally gung-ho in that
area. I'm mainly a duck hunter, and as soon as that
season would open up, Ty would have all kinds of
stories to share with me. He is just a happy guy
altogether. I know Cara fairly well too, and she
absolutely adored Ty, which speaks magnitudes for the
side of him that I didn't know. I know that Ty is up
with God right now with that same goofy grin on his
face. We'll all miss that uplifting personality every
day until we meet him again, but we can rest assured
knowing that he is still right here with his family
and close friends. Steve, Lisa, Erin, and Cara, my
heart goes out to all of you. I can't imagine what
you're feeling right now. Keep the faith and when all
is said and done, you will all be reunited one day. A
friend gave me this passage and I hope it will offer
some comfort for you all as you face your own rough
sea. Love you all,
Justin Carey

Your life is not like a ship tossed helplessly upon
the rough sea.
You are not a victim of helpless circumstances,
For every circumstance is a servant of Jesus Christ.
The rough sea in your life would not be there unless
he allowed it.
He is using each circumstance to work out His purpose
in your life-
To show you His power, to strengthen your faith, to
purify your heart.
In His perfect time He will speak the Word over your
rough sea and all will be calm.

Message: Tyler was my second cousin and I did not know him real well, but I feel I
owe it to him and his family to take time and remember him. I won't ever
forget the day freshman year when we played the North baseball team at
Redhawks stadium. I did not realize until the game started that Tyler even
played and it ended up that we were both pitching that game. I got the
better of him that game but that was only the first time we would meet and
later on he got the better of me. Im gonna miss those battles each year and
this year just wont be the same without you.

Love always,

Message: Hello, I am Josh Hummel: I can say with all my heart that Tyler was a good person: I remember the days of growing up he lived on our block tyler, erin, nick laid and other neighborhood friends would all play together playing guns hide and seek, and many other childhood games, one of my fondest memories was the time Tyler and I took all of Steve's bowling trophy's. We gave all his trophy's out to friends and family so proud of our actions. Other memories are playing with the giant moosehead in the basement of their house and with there fake tongue's we would chase Erin with....

I always saw Tyler many many times through out the years hanging out at parties and talking about the forth of July and hunting trips and how we used to hang out when we were kids. This is hard for me along with many others to deal with his tragic death he will be missed dearly and i will always have the memories of Tyler he never once had an argument of a fight with anyone that i have know he was a positive person and like it was said today a great work ethic and a good sense of responsibility. Always remmeber that memories help make life, with out memories there would be nothing i will cherish the memories i have of him.

My sincerest condolences
Godbless and Godspeed

Message: I've heard humorous, heart-touching stories about Tyler. About his team, his support for other teams, his LOUD truck, his humor, and his love for everyone around him. I didn't know Tyler personally. I know Erin from dance for 4 years and through that Lisa. I heard stories that helped to show his real character through Cara, though. Apparently Tyler was a bit over-protective of his younger sister, not that he really needed to be. I was told of a time that he found it necessary, while with Cara one day, to leave the room every 5 minutes to retrieve food and pop. Erin apparently was in the other room with a boy and Tyler, being the slightly-protective older brother was actually checking up on her. I don't have an older brother, but having someone who cared that much about you and checking up on the boys you bring home is something that I believe will be greatly missed.

Another story has to do with something that happened every day. There is one lady at school, a 'hall monitor'. I would say what she is usually called, but its not necessary, most know who I am talking about. Every day, Tyler would give her a hard time, whether it was about cleaning up the mess on the table or if it was having a cap on before he left the building or if it was sticking up for someone else this particular 'hall monitor' had just yelled at. It was always in good humor and usually got a lot of people smiling and laughing as they walked by.

But most of all, I'll remember Tyler because he was Cara's boyfriend. The one she was always excited about. The one that she went to prom with and would again. The one that always treated her good. Cara was always happy because of Tyler. And I was greatful that Tyler was taking care of her as I grew farther apart from her. I watched to make sure she was almost always smiling. And Tyler never failed. He was a real sweetheart to her.

So to Cara and Erin who, both, I love greatly: I don't know what to say. I can't say It's okay. Because it's not. Tyler, a humorous, always smiling, over-protective, great athlete, awesome fan, boyfriend, brother, and son, is gone. I can say that you both, and both your families, will have to be very brave and very strong. You all are about to find something in you that many of us have never had to call on yet. But from the memories I have from dance, sleep overs, driving around, talks about boyfriends, and other past experiences, I know that you have it in you. Keep your faith and get some rest. There is sure to be many times ahead that you will need your strength and courage.
~*God bless*~

Message: I didn't know Tyler as well as I wish I could have. Even though we have only went through jr. high and high school together, it seems like I have known him for a life time. I will always remember his little smirks that he had and the jokes that he made about odd-ball things. Tyler had a great sense of humor and knew how to make people laugh. I can just see him sitting up in heaven, tossing a baseball back and forth with God. Tyler was a great guy, friend, and athlete. We will miss him soo much. He made all of us laugh in aerobics. Tyler came to class each and every day with a big, bright smile on his face and did his best to make sure that we all left with a big, bright smile. One of the last things I remember about Tyler is him telling all of us to "breathe" during his aerobics routine. Everytime that I hear the thunder roll, I will know that it is Tyler driving his big, loud truck through heaven. Tyler: You will be in our hearts forever and greatly missed. Thanks for all the laughs.

Message: Tyler was quite a guy. He could make you smile no matter how bad of a day you were having and he always had a smirk of his own on his face. Tyler had this sorta presence about him that just made you feel confident in yourself because he was so confident about himself. Tyler was the kinda guy that would do anything for you, even if it meant dropping what he was doing to do it. He was in my ceramics class and i remember the one time i threw something on the wheel (made a pot) i wasn't able to get up and go get a board to put it on because i was afraid i was going to ruin it. Tyler happened to be working on trimming a pot that he had thrown and he dropped what he was doing and went and got a board before i could even ask for one. He has such a good heart and i'm sure is very, very well liked in heaven. I'll miss seeing your big 'ol truck coming down the road everyday........love ya buddy.

With lots of love,

Message: Steven Curtis Chapman - "With Hope"

This is not at all how
We thought it was supposed to be
We had so many plans for you
We had so many dreams
And now you've gone away
And left us with the memories of your smile
And nothing we can say
And nothing we can do
Can take away the pain
The pain of losing you, but ...

We can cry with hope
We can say goodbye with hope
'Cause we know our goodbye is not the end, oh no
And we can grieve with hope
'Cause we believe with hope
(There's a place by God's grace)
There's a place where we'll see your face again
We'll see your face again

And never have I known
Anything so hard to understand
And never have I questioned more
The wisdom of God's plan
But through the cloud of tears
I see the Father's smile and say well done
And I imagine you
Where you wanted most to be
Seeing all your dreams come true
'Cause now you're home
And now you're free, and ...

We have this hope as an anchor
'Cause we believe that everything
God promised us is true, so ...

We wait with hope
And we ache with hope
We hold on with hope
We let go with hope

*We miss and love you Tyler! Steve, Lisa, and Erin, our prayers are with you now and always. We have so many fond memories of times spent with your family - that we will NEVER be able to forget.

Love,

Steve, Debbie, Sarah, Emily, and Amanda Lenzmeier

Message: I remember when Tyler had recently gotten his truck... about the summer going into high school. We were at a friends house hanging out. I just had gotten a surgery on my shoulder recently, so i was in a sling. I begged him to drive his truck, and he finally let me!!! I was turning around in someones driveway, and being i only had one hand to drive with, i hit a tree! His parents dont know about this, so shhh! :o Nothing happened... just got a memory out of it!
Thank you Tyler for being a great friend. I will never forget you, and youll always being alive in my eyes! Rest in Peace bro!

Message: Im am not a close friend of Tyler's, but I did know him through school. Tyler was a great guy. Whenever I would see him, he would always have a smile on his face. He was in my Advanced Math class 1st semester, and I can always remember how almost everyday he would come into class late and mrs. Bertch would ask how come your late? And he would be don't ask. This usually ment that English didn't go so good, because of a certain teacher. He would go off on the subject and we would be destracted from our lessons(which was a good thing)J And one more thing is every morning, I could hear this loud rumbling outside my house, and I didn't even need to look, cause I knew it was Ty's truck rumbling down the road.He was just a nice guy who loved everyone. I wish I could have gotten to know him better through out my high school years. I just want to give my deepest gratitude to his family, Steve, Lisa, Erin and Cara. I know this is tough, but god is with you right now. Ty you will always be in my prayers and I see ya up there!!
